ARTedUK Services > Questions                         Why you need to ask these questions. Choosing  your university course is one of the most important decisions that you will ever make. It represents a huge financial investment as well as a  very important personal, intellectual and emotional commitment. Making the wrong decision is not an option! Getting the information you need  will require asking some difficult questions and having access to independent and impartial advisors who can help you make sense of the answers you receive. Take a look at the questions below and then contact ARTedUK's 'Help Centre' to find out how we can help you ask the questions and understand and evaluate the answers. Just send an email to helpcentre@arteduk.com  with the word ‘Questions’ in the message title and we will explain how we do it.                          Here are some questions you should ask (and get answered) before deciding on your course  Teaching                       Q Will I have a personal tutor and how many tutorials will I get each semester?                 Q How many taught/contact hours are provided each semester (including lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials)?                 Q What is the SSR (Student Staff Ratio) for this course?                 Q Will some of my tutors be art or design practitioners with world-class reputations. (will I be able to look them up on Google or Wikipedia)?                 Q In what form will I receive feedback after unit assessment and how quickly will I get it?          Finance                       Q Can you offer me any kind of financial assistance in the form of bursaries, scholarships or discounted fees?                 Q What is the cost of university accommodation?                 Q What is the approximate monthly cost of private accommodation in the city/town?                 Q In addition to tuition fees, and accommodation, what other fees will be charged, (including studio fees, materials costs, graduation costs and end of course exhibitions).              Resources                       Q What equipment/hardware/software is supplied by the university and what will I be expected to provide myself?                             Q What are the university open hours (including weekends and vacations)?                             Q Are course-specific learning materials available online 24/7?              Quality Management           Q What recommendations for action were made by the QAA in its latest Institutional Audit?                             Q What recommendations for action were made by the External Examiner in the last Annual Course Monitoring Report?                             Q When was the course first validated and when is it due for re-validation?         Now email helpcentre@arteduk.com and we will explain how to get answers to these questions.
